An accessible parking space

[MIA parking cost calculator](https://miaairportguide.com/parking/#stay-cost): 7 days from $84.35 at MIA Economy Park-and-Ride. Pick your days and compare every lot.

MIA lists disabled-permit spaces on the ground level and Level 3 of Dolphin, Flamingo and Ibis garages. For Dolphin and Flamingo, Level 3 leads toward the terminal by moving walkway. Park 1, the High-Vehicle lot and Economy Park-and-Ride also have accessible spaces.

Match the garage to your concourse in the table below before you drive in. [Our terminal guide](https://miaairportguide.com/terminals/) has MIA’s airport map with every concourse on it. Driving a tall van? Read the height limits further down first.

## Pick the space that fits your flight

| Parking area | Disabled-permit spaces | What MIA publishes about reaching the terminal |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Dolphin Garage | Ground level and Level 3. Van-accessible spaces are on the ground level. | Level 3 moving walkways lead to the terminals. Dolphin serves Concourses D and E. |
| Flamingo Garage | Ground level and Level 3. Van-accessible spaces are on the ground level. | Level 3 moving walkways lead to the terminals. Flamingo serves Concourses E through J. |
| Ibis Garage | Ground level and Level 3. Van-accessible spaces are on the ground level. | Level 3 permit spaces sit near the moving sidewalks. Ibis serves H and J. |
| Park 1 | Ground level and Level 2. Van-accessible spaces are on the ground level. | MIA publishes no walking route to the terminal. |
| High-Vehicle lot | Ground level, including van-accessible spaces. | Beside the east side of Dolphin Garage, with no published route onward. |
| Economy Park-and-Ride | Ground level, including van-accessible spaces. | A shuttle runs to and from the terminals 24 hours a day, picking up and dropping off on the departures level across from Doors 3, 11 and 26. Wheelchair access on the bus isn’t listed. |

Dolphin and Flamingo put more spaces, including van-accessible ones, at the easternmost ground level. Economy Park-and-Ride is at **1350 NW 45 Ave, Miami, FL 33126**.

## From your car to check-in

A Level 3 space is the one with a published way in. The walkway brings you into the terminal, where Level 2 is the main ticketing and security-checkpoint frontage.

Every van-accessible space MIA lists is on a ground level, and no parking listing gives a route from there to the terminal. Ask garage staff for the step-free way in, and tell them your garage, level and concourse. If you need wheelchair assistance beyond the terminal entrance, arrange it with your airline. [Our accessibility guide](https://miaairportguide.com/accessibility/) explains how to book wheelchair assistance and where the lanyards and facilities are.

## If the space or walkway isn’t usable

On a weekend when every MIA garage filled, WPLG Local 10 filmed one driver who parked on Flamingo’s sixth floor and walked beside a moving walkway that wasn’t running. Another driver was filmed pulling into an overflow lot.

If you need a particular accessible route, check with MIA before committing to a space. [Our parking guide](https://miaairportguide.com/parking/) lists the other airport lots and their rates. Treat Economy Park-and-Ride as a backup only after MIA confirms its shuttle can carry your wheelchair. If parking won’t work for your trip, MIA says wheelchair-accessible taxis can be requested at the ground-level curb. [Our accessible taxi listing](https://miaairportguide.com/transport/accessible-taxi-supershuttle/) places pickup outside baggage claim.

## Vehicle height, rates and permits

Dolphin and Flamingo list vehicles under seven feet only. For vehicles over seven feet, MIA names one High-Vehicle parking area, labeled at the Ibis garage beside Dolphin’s east side, and Economy Park-and-Ride. A van-accessible bay does not by itself mean your van clears a garage entrance.

Dolphin, Flamingo and Ibis charge **$2 per 20 minutes**. The daily maximum is **$25 after four hours**, and a stay can last up to 45 days. Reserving Dolphin or Flamingo adds a **nonrefundable $2.99 fee**. Economy Park-and-Ride costs $2 for each 20 minutes or part thereof, up to $12 per day, plus a $0.35 convenience fee per transaction.

A vehicle showing a disabled parking permit or license tag gets **two hours free**, then standard rates, under a Miami-Dade County ordinance. The free time isn’t automatic. At any exit lane, press the telephone icon on the kiosk and tell the representative about the permit or tag. Under Florida law, parking is free for vehicles fitted with specialized equipment such as ramps, lifts, or foot or hand controls. It is also free with a Florida Toll Exemption permit, and with a Florida Disabled Veteran plate when the veteran is in the vehicle. If you carry a permit issued outside the US, ask MIA whether it is accepted.
