A day room

MIA has private sleep rooms after security in Concourse D, a hotel before security in Central Terminal E, and day-use rooms at a nearby hotel. If you want to stay inside security, the Concourse D rooms are the only choice.

| If you need | Start here | Check before paying |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A bed without leaving the secure area | Wait n’ Rest in North Terminal, Concourse D | It is after security and open 24 hours. Ask about availability, the shortest stay and the total price. |
| A room without leaving the terminal building | Miami International Airport Hotel on Level 2 of Central Terminal E | It is before security. Confirm a day room for your hours and allow for another security check. |
| A daytime hotel stay away from the terminal | Pullman Miami Airport in Blue Lagoon, 1.3 miles from MIA | Its day-use offer gives no rate or fixed hours. Confirm both and your ride back. |

## Already past security? Start with Wait n’ Rest

The operator’s Miami page puts its rooms near Gate D15 and says you need a same-day flight with access to Concourse D to use them. Rooms take one to four guests and have a private shower. Book by the hour for up to 12 hours. If a room is free, you can also walk in and register at the self check-in screens. MIA’s opening announcement said a 60-minute stay for one guest started at $40, and the eight-hour package at $200. Wait n’ Rest’s Miami number, **305-338-1917**, gives the price for your party.

Leaving from E next? MIA maps a connector between D and E, and our [connections guide](https://miaairportguide.com/connections/) shows which concourses you can walk between.

If you have not cleared security, the [D-serving checkpoints](https://miaairportguide.com/security/) close even though the rooms don’t. North Terminal’s Checkpoint 2 has the longest listed hours, 3:30 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Central Terminal’s Checkpoint 5, which serves D and E, runs 4 a.m. to 10:45 p.m.

## Staying inside the building: the airport hotel

Because the hotel is before security, it suits a stop after baggage claim or before you enter a checkpoint. It won’t let you keep an airside connection. Leave time to collect any bags you must reclaim, check in at the hotel, return to departures and pass security for your next flight.

HotelsByDay advertises daytime blocks at this hotel. Its page shows 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at **$129**, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at **$169**, each plus taxes and fees. Those are HotelsByDay’s displayed offers, so confirm the price for your date and ask the hotel about its own hourly policy. The [airport hotel listing](https://miaairportguide.com/hotels/) gives you the terminal location to use once you have a booking.

If your layover includes separate tickets, don’t assume your bag will travel to the next flight. Confirm with the airline, then use the [baggage claim guide](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/baggage-claim/) to work out where you will collect it. Rather not take that bag to the room? Communitel’s luggage storage is on Level 2 of Central Terminal E and South Terminal H, both before security, and [our luggage storage guide](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/luggage-storage/) has its phone numbers and hours.

## Leaving the airport for a day-use room

Pullman Miami Airport, **1.3 miles from MIA in Blue Lagoon**, advertises a day-use room offer for a few hours or an afternoon. That page gives no day rate, fixed booking window or availability. Its Airport Layover Package is a different deal. That one comes with a $25 dining credit and a complimentary round-trip shuttle to and from MIA, plus a 1 p.m. late checkout when available. Call Pullman at **305-264-4888** with your flight times and ask for the day-use price including taxes.

Pullman appears on MIA’s hotel shuttle list. MIA directs [hotel-shuttle](https://miaairportguide.com/transport/hotel-shuttles/) passengers to the Level 1 arrivals curb at designated zones across from doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 15, 20, 23, 24 and 28. Only the Layover Package names a shuttle. The day-use offer doesn’t mention one.

Without a shuttle, take a [taxi](https://miaairportguide.com/transport/taxi/) or a [ride app](https://miaairportguide.com/transport/ride-app/). MIA allows ride-app pickup on both Level 1 arrivals and Level 2 departures, at the door your app shows.

## If the room will leave too little time

None of the room listings promises that your connection will work. A room outside security costs you the trip there, check-in, checkout, any bag collection, the ride back and another security line. If that leaves less rest than you wanted, stay airside and look at the [lounges near your gate](https://miaairportguide.com/lounges/) instead.
