**Wait in your own concourse unless another one clearly gives you something better.** Our [terminal guide](https://miaairportguide.com/terminals/) shows what each one has, and our [airlines page](https://miaairportguide.com/airlines/) shows your airline’s departure concourse and check-in counters. For a wait of several hours, Concourse D has the most to offer.

## What each concourse gives you

The lounges, sleep rooms and late-night snack spots below are after security. The airport doesn’t say which side of security the Plane Fun area is on.

| Concourse | For a long wait | Listed as open 24 hours |
| --- | --- | --- |
| D | Admirals Club above D15 and Admirals Club across from D30, both with one-day passes subject to capacity. The Flagship Lounge across from D30. Wait n’ Rest sleep rooms on the third floor. A multi-sensory room. | Wait n’ Rest, and the Carlo’s Bake Shop Express vending machine at D34 |
| E | Turkish Airlines Lounge, with a one-day pass for a same-day boarding pass on any airline. Plane Fun, the children’s play area near E5. | IStore at E9 and The Fan Stand at E8 |
| F and G | Club America F is marked temporarily closed. | Misha’s Cupcakes and Skittles Remix by G15 |
| H | Delta Sky Club, with a single-visit pass for a same-day Delta or partner boarding pass. Turkish Airlines Lounge on Level 3, with a day pass subject to capacity. A multi-sensory room at the H–J connector. | Carlo’s Bake Shop Express at H11 |
| J | The VIP Lounge near J6, with a three-hour pass subject to capacity. The Avianca and TAP Portugal Lounge across from J6. | The Avianca and TAP Portugal Lounge, for eligible passengers, and Carlo’s at J11 |

MIA doesn’t publish a price for the passes in this table, and capacity can stop a sale. Our guide to [which MIA lounges let you pay at the door](https://miaairportguide.com/guides/which-mia-lounges-let-you-pay-at-door/) has the details and phone numbers. For somewhere quiet without a lounge, see our guide to [quiet places to rest at MIA](https://miaairportguide.com/guides/quiet-places-rest-at-mia-without-lounge/).

## Should you cross to another concourse?

Only if the gain is worth the walk back. Check two things first:

- **Can you get there without another security check?** MIA’s map shows a D–E connector and an H–J connector. Our [connections page](https://miaairportguide.com/connections/) explains the routes.
- **How far is the walk back?** Concourse D alone is a mile long. The [D Skytrain](https://miaairportguide.com/transport/skytrain/) helps within D.

## Is it worth leaving security?

For a delay of a few hours, it isn’t. Leaving means clearing security again, and most checkpoints open between 3:30 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. and close between 7:15 p.m. and 11:45 p.m. Only Checkpoint 9, for H and J, is listed as open 24 hours. Our [security page](https://miaairportguide.com/security/) lists each one.

Leaving makes more sense when the delay pushes your flight to the next morning. If the delay was your airline’s fault, ask it about a hotel voucher first. Our guide to [a cancelled flight at MIA](https://miaairportguide.com/guides/flight-cancelled-at-mia-options-tonight/) sets out what US airlines commit to. If you’re paying your own way, the [Miami International Airport Hotel](https://miaairportguide.com/hotels/) is inside the terminal, before security on Level 2 in Central Terminal E.
