Airport fire rescue

**In an emergency, call 911, or ask the nearest airport or airline employee to call for you.** The Miami-Dade Aviation Fire Rescue Division answers medical emergencies at MIA from two fire stations on the airport. Airport Fire Rescue’s direct line is (305) 876-7575, and Airport Police, run by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, is on (305) 876-7373. There’s no walk-in clinic in MIA’s terminal listings, so for anything short of an emergency, the medicine machines and shops below are what the airport has.

## If someone is unwell after security, call for help first

- **Say exactly where you are.** Whether you call or flag down a gate agent or TSA officer, give your gate number or the nearest shop so [responders](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/medical-first-aid/) can find you.
- **Tell your airline** if the person might miss the flight, and ask what happens to their seat and checked bags.
- **Use a white courtesy phone** if you don’t have a working phone. MIA says they’re answered around the clock.

## Pharmabox machines sell basic medicine around the clock

MIA’s directory lists **Pharmabox** pharmaceutical vending machines, open 24 hours, in four places:

| Where | Before or after security |
| --- | --- |
| D15 | Before |
| E31 | After |
| J9 | After |
| Level 1 arrivals, by Door 5, North Terminal (D) | Before |

Several newsstands and shops also stock health products. MIA’s directory lists Air Essentials, Mercado Miami and NewsLink stores in its health category. Our [food and shops directory](https://miaairportguide.com/dining/) has their locations and hours. None is listed as a pharmacy counter, so bring enough of any prescription medicine to cover a delay.

## Where to go for smaller problems

- **Help getting around.** Wheelchair service comes from your airline, and our [mobility page](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/mobility/) lists the charging stations for wheelchairs and scooters. [Our wheelchair assistance guide](https://miaairportguide.com/guides/wheelchair-assistance-at-miami-airport-how-arrange-it/) covers how to book it and what the attendant will and won’t do.
- **Somewhere calm.** MIA’s [multi-sensory rooms](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/multi-sensory/), after security in Concourse D and the H–J connector, open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- **Medicine and devices at security.** Our guide to [traveling through MIA with medication and medical devices](https://miaairportguide.com/guides/travelling-through-mia-with-medication-medical-devices/) covers TSA’s rules.
- **Lost medicine.** MIA’s Lost and Found is in North Terminal D, Level 4, open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For anything left on the plane, our guide to [getting back something lost at MIA](https://miaairportguide.com/guides/lost-something-at-mia-how-get-it-back/) shows whether the airport, the airline or TSA has it.
