From each place's published hours, in MIA local time. Hours change on holidays and at short notice; 220 of 225 listed places publish hours we can read exactly.

MIA has two places with a bed, one on each side of security. [Wait n’ Rest](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/wait-n-rest-open-24-hours/) rents private sleep rooms after security in Concourse D, near Gate D15, and lists 24-hour opening. The [Miami International Airport Hotel](https://miaairportguide.com/hotels/) is inside Central Terminal E, before security. Pick the one on the side of security you can reach at midnight.

## Pick a place before you settle in

| Your situation | Best documented option | Check before committing |
| --- | --- | --- |
| You’re still after security in D and need to lie down | Wait n’ Rest, on the third floor of Concourse D | You need a same-day flight with access to Concourse D. Call (305) 338-1917 to check a room is free for your hours. |
| You’re before security, collecting bags, or starting a new trip | MIA Hotel, Level 2 of Central Terminal E | Check room availability and your airline’s morning check-in plan. |
| You’re staying in the public terminal without a room | The 24-hour Subway in E or 24-hour Dunkin’ in F, both before security on Level 2 | Both sell food and give you a lit place to wait. Neither is a sleeping area. |

MIA says it has 15 Wait n’ Rest rooms, each for one to four guests. Every stay includes access to a private shower. Its published 60-minute rates are $40 for one guest, $55 for two, $70 for three, and $85 for four. The eight-hour overnight rates start at $200 for one guest, then $215, $230, and $245 for two, three, and four guests. You book by the hour, up to 12 hours per reservation, and walk-ins depend on availability. For a longer wait, you register again at the self check-in screens outside the rooms.

The hotel is the simpler bed if you’ve already left the secure area. You can walk to it inside the terminal without trying to regain access to D. MIA also lists shuttle hotels, including Courtyard Miami Airport, Hampton Inn Miami Airport East, and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Miami Airport East. Check [our hotel page](https://miaairportguide.com/hotels/) for those choices, and confirm a hotel’s room rate and shuttle hours with the hotel before leaving the terminal.

## Can you sleep on a bench or the floor?

MIA names no area for sleeping on seats. If you’re staying in the terminal without a room, ask an airport employee where you may wait overnight and follow any direction about keeping walkways clear.

Don’t plan around the yoga room or a lounge as a free overnight bedroom. MIA lists the yoga room in Concourse H, Level 1 near Door 21, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Most lounges have closing hours and admission rules. The [Avianca and TAP Portugal Lounge](https://miaairportguide.com/lounges/avianca-tap-lounge-j/) across from J6 lists 24-hour opening, but access depends on your ticket, membership, or a day pass subject to capacity. Its hours do not promise a bed.

## Where can you buy food and essentials overnight?

After security, the directory lists round-the-clock hours for [Carlo’s Bake Shop Express at H11](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/carlos-bake-shop-express-south-terminal-departures-after-security-h-11-2nd-level-departures/) and [J11](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/carlos-bake-shop-express-south-terminal-departures-after-security-j-11-2nd-level-departures/), both on Level 2, and [Misha’s Cupcakes near G15](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/mishas-cupcakes/). It also lists a [Carlo’s vending machine at D34](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/carlos-bake-shop-express-vending-machine/) and [Skittles Remix near G15](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/skittles-remix/) with those hours.

For overnight shopping after security, the directory lists [IStore at D49](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/istore-380866/) in Concourse D, [Istore at E9](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/istore/) and [The Fan Stand at E8](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/the-fan-stand/) in Concourse E. All three are on Level 2 and list daily hours of 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

For pharmacy items, MIA lists [Pharmabox at D15](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/pharmabox-north-terminal-departures/) before security on Level 2, [Pharmabox at E31](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/pharmabox-central-terminal/) after security on Level 3, and [Pharmabox at J9](https://miaairportguide.com/venues/pharmabox-south-terminal/) after security on Level 2. Each vending machine lists daily hours of 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.

MIA’s [water refill stations](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/water-refill/) are on both sides of security, with no listed hours. After security, the ones nearest the overnight spots are by Gates D20 and D23 for the sleep rooms, and in the H-J Connector restrooms by Checkpoint 9 for South Terminal. Before security, there’s one in the E Level 2 restrooms by the Military Lounge near Door 11, on the same level of Central Terminal E as the hotel.

In South Terminal, [Checkpoint 9](https://miaairportguide.com/security/) serves H and J and is listed open 24 hours. A checkpoint’s hours tell you when screening is scheduled, not whether your airline will check a bag or let you into a particular gate area at that hour. Other checkpoints close overnight. Check the [security hours](https://miaairportguide.com/security/) and ask your airline when check-in and bag drop open before leaving a secure area you may need again.

MIA’s Tourist Information Counters list 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., so don’t count on finding an open desk in the middle of the night. The airport does list paging through its white courtesy phones around the clock. If you need immediate help at the airport, find an on-duty employee rather than waiting for the desk to reopen.

## Before your morning flight

Set an alarm that leaves time for the walk, airline check-in if needed, security, and your gate. Concourse D is long, and the [terminal guide](https://miaairportguide.com/terminals/) explains its Skytrain and the separate routes to E and South Terminal. A room in D does not put you beside every MIA gate.

If you’re arriving on one ticket and leaving on another, confirm with your airlines whether you must collect and recheck your bag. The [connection guide](https://miaairportguide.com/connections/) shows which transfers stay airside and which send you back through arrivals. Luggage storage won’t hold a bag overnight for an early start either. MIA’s pages give the [Central Terminal E](https://miaairportguide.com/amenities/luggage-storage/) and South Terminal H checkrooms two sets of hours, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on one and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on another, so call 305-869-1163 before relying on either.

Need a bed off airport property instead? Use [our hotel guide](https://miaairportguide.com/hotels/) to choose a hotel, then check its shuttle service before booking. MIA lists hotel-shuttle pickup at the Level 1 arrivals curb across from Doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 15, 20, 23, 24, and 28. Ask your hotel which door its shuttle uses and when it runs, and use the [hotel shuttle guide](https://miaairportguide.com/transport/hotel-shuttles/) to find that door.
