If you’re landing late, the shuttle’s end time decides the hotel. Three of the free vans below stop at 11 p.m., and two run until midnight.

These are options with stated free ride hours, not a complete list. None of the published windows tells you when the last van leaves MIA, how long pickup takes, or whether a full van will make another run before closing. If your flight lands near the end of a window, ask the hotel about your expected curbside time, including baggage claim. Do the same for an early departure: confirm when the first ride to MIA leaves the hotel and whether you need to reserve a seat.

From baggage claim to the shuttle

MIA puts hotel shuttle pickup and drop-off on Arrivals, Level 1, at designated curbside zones by doors 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 15, 20, 23, 24 and 28. That is the airport’s list of zones, not a door assignment for each hotel. Check your hotel’s pickup instructions before choosing a door. For Comfort Suites, call after you have your bags, as the hotel requests.

When no van comes, phone the hotel with the Level 1 door you’re standing at and ask when its next pickup reaches you. Heather of As Told by Heather, who stayed at Embassy Suites with a cruise group, said its shuttle can fill up quickly, and a couple of people in the group took Uber instead. If you give up on the van, taxis wait outside baggage claim, and ride-app pickup is on the middle median beyond the crosswalk on arrivals Level 1 or departures Level 2.

Hotels that need another check

MIA’s hotel shuttle list is much longer than the table above, but it does not publish hotel-by-hotel hours or say every ride is free. The tourism board describes free MIA shuttles at Miami Airport Marriott, TownePlace Suites Miami Airport and Embassy Suites by Hilton Miami International Airport. Those listings give no operating hours, so get the schedule by phone before a late arrival.

Want to stay inside the terminal instead? The Miami International Airport Hotel is on Level 2 of Central Terminal E, before security, so you can walk there. Its own page does not name an airport shuttle.

If you’re staying before a cruise, check the port transfer separately. The tourism board lists Embassy Suites’ MIA shuttle as free but its PortMiami shuttle as paid. Aaron of ARD Cruising, who stayed at a different airport hotel, also described a separate paid ride to the port.
