Details
  • Arrivals: follow signs for Ground Transportation or Ride App Pickup at baggage claim, use the crosswalk to the middle median and look for the Ride App signs.
  • Your exact zone depends on your arrival gate or terminal, the time, airport rules, construction and where you are when you request. Follow the app's step-by-step directions rather than a fixed door.
  • Departures: pickups are also on the second level. Check your app for the designated location and door number.
  • Internet service is required to request a ride, and Uber says not to accept trips from outside the app.
  • The airport advises passengers to ignore offers of transportation from solicitors inside the terminal: soliciting is illegal, and many solicitors are unlicensed and uninsured.
  • Booking ahead: Uber Reserve takes bookings up to 90 days ahead and tracks your flight, with free cancellation until one hour before pickup. Lyft scheduled rides also go up to 90 days ahead, and Lyft promises a driver within 10 minutes of your pickup time or up to $100 in credits, terms apply.
  • For comparison, a taxi from MIA adds a $2.00 airport origination fee and has a $15 minimum fare.
