Eating at MIA before a 6am flight
Find the first listed food in each MIA concourse before a 6am flight, with opening hours and options before security.
Every MIA concourse has food open before a 6 a.m. departure, and in E and F you can eat before security through the night. The table gives the first counter in each concourse on both sides of the checkpoint, with hours from our food directory.
The first food listed in each concourse
“After security” means you need to clear the checkpoint first. “Before security” means you can eat while you’re still on the public side.

Waiting on the public side of E’s arrivals level? Café La Carreta there opens at 5 a.m.
The earliest listed checkpoints serving these concourses open at different times. Checkpoint 2 for D and Checkpoint 6 for F open at 3:30 a.m. Checkpoints 4 and 5 for E, and Checkpoint 7 for G, open at 4 a.m. Checkpoint 9 serves H and J and is open 24 hours.
If your gate is in D, look at the gate number before crossing the concourse for breakfast. D runs a mile. Our North Terminal guide shows which part of D you’re heading toward. In E, gates E20 to E33 sit in a separate satellite building reached by the E Train. Check which part of E you’re flying from before walking to E2 for breakfast.
South Terminal also has a Gilbert’s Food Bar before security from 4:30 a.m., but its listing gives no concourse or placement, so plan on the counters past the checkpoint instead.
After security in H, Esspresamente Illy on Level 2 departures, Sergio’s GO by H12 and Subway by H7 open at 5 a.m., half an hour after Gilbert’s and Starbucks. After security in J, Earl of Sandwich by J8 and Burger King in the H-J Connector Food Court open at 5 a.m.
