Electric vehicle charging at Miami airport
Find MIA's EV charging garages, Ibis ChargePoint rate, parking costs, and what to check before you drive in.

For self-parking with an EV, head to Ibis Garage, where MIA lists ChargePoint ports on every level from 1 to 5, around the clock. You pay for the electricity and for the parking. The only other charging MIA lists is at the Dolphin Garage valet, and Flamingo Garage has none.
| Garage | EV charging MIA lists | What you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Ibis | 50 ChargePoint ports, levels 1 through 5, 24/7 | $0.38 per kWh, plus garage parking |
| Dolphin | Departures level 2 valet, 24/7 | Valet parking rates apply. No charging price or charger specifications published |
| Flamingo | No charging location listed | No EV charging rate published |
MIA doesn’t say whether the Ibis ports are Level 2 or DC fast chargers, or name their connectors or power output. Check the individual Ibis station in the ChargePoint Driver App for your plug and its current status before you drive in, and set the app up before you arrive, as MIA recommends. If your plans depend on a fast charge, don’t infer charging speed from the port count.
What an Ibis charging stop costs
At the Ibis rate, 20 kWh comes to $7.60 in charging. Parking is on top. MIA lists garage parking at $2 for each 20-minute increment and a $25 maximum daily rate, which applies after four hours. You can compare the garage details on our Ibis parking page.
The airport says you can activate and pay for Ibis charging by smartphone, Apple Watch or credit card, and it lists ChargePoint support as available 24/7 if a session won’t start. MIA does not publish an idle fee, a charging session limit or a promise that a port will be open when you reach it, so read the terms on the Ibis station’s screen before you walk away.
Parking for a whole trip? MIA says garage stays are limited to 45 days, except in spaces marked “no overnight parking.” Its page does not say a charging bay may be occupied for that entire stay, so ask parking staff before you leave the car plugged in while away. For a parking question, MIA lists 305-876-7536.
MIA advertises advance parking reservations for Dolphin and Flamingo, not Ibis. A reservation in one of those garages is not a reservation for an Ibis charging port.
Ibis or Dolphin valet?
Ibis is the documented self-park choice. MIA says the garage serves Concourses H and J. Dolphin serves D and E, but its listed charging location is valet on Departures level 2, not a self-park row in the garage.
MIA’s own parking page lists Dolphin valet as a 24/7 EV charging location, then says EV owners and operators using airport parking facilities must use only the paid ChargePoint stations on Ibis levels. The page does not explain how that notice applies to valet. If you want valet charging, call MIA’s valet number, 305-876-0118, and ask whether staff will charge your car, which connector they use and what the charging costs.
Our valet parking page carries MIA’s valet rates: $25 for up to three hours on the first day, then $39 for three to 24 hours, with a $39 maximum daily rate. Valet stays are limited to 20 days.
