Cruise line transfer

Cruise lines that sell a transfer board it at one of two bus stations: the north station on Level 1 of Concourse D at Door 1, or the south station on Level 1 of Concourse J at Door 33. The cruise line sets the price and the timetable, so your cruise booking tells you which door and which time.

Taxi

Taxis load at the arrivals level curb. The meter is the price: $2.95 for the first 1/6 mile, $0.85 for each 1/6 mile up to one mile, $0.55 for each 1/6 mile after that, $0.40 a minute while waiting, plus the $2.00 airport charge. At the airport's 9 miles that comes to about $36, and at our routed 13.5 miles about $50. A trip that starts at MIA or PortMiami has a $15 minimum.

Ride app

Pickups are on the first level (arrivals), at the middle median beyond the crosswalk, and on the second level (departures). The app shows the zone and door number. The airport publishes no ride-app fares, so the price to the port is whatever the app quotes.

Metrorail and City of Miami trolley

The airport's own instructions are to ride the free MIA Mover to the Miami Intermodal Center, then take the City of Miami Trolley on the Flagami, Little Havana or Coral Way route to reach PortMiami. In the county's September 2026 timetable data only the Flagami trolley stops at the Intermodal Center, and its published hours run Monday to Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. That makes this a several-change trip with luggage, so it suits a small bag and a flexible embarkation time.

Good to know

  • A cruise line usually asks guests to reach the terminal in a set window. The port and the line, not the airport, publish that window.
  • Taxis leaving the port charge the same $2.00 origination fee and $15 minimum as at MIA.
